Actually maybe not idk let's se where this rant goes.<br /><br />So Im new to this game, and tryin' to get the swing of things and shit, whatever, but I'm reading the forums, and I g2 tell ya, I'm a lot more lost than Amelia Earhart right now with whats goin' on.<br /><br />So superficially, I see like a bunch of guys from Al Jamahiriya or whatever, and they seem to be like REALLY into Islam... like it's an after-school club or something. So they're talkin a lot about random crap, there's some Potato guy that's doin crazy crap (or so I read), and I guess the Brit's got jacked up or whatever.<br /><br />Maybe it's just really early in this game right now..... but if a guy like me got like... a crash course in history right now, that'd be super (And I bet for a lot of other guys too)<br /><br />Idk, just askin'.<br /></div>

<div class="inner" id="msg_16133">In the beginning, all of the continents except South America were immediately swallowed up by large regional alliances: OPEC for the Middle East, some Asian thing for Asia, and SSAC for Africa. <br /><br />I'll go through what happened to these:<br /><br />OPEC established almost complete regional hegemony, except for Algeria and Libya which were Al Jamamohabla. I and my beautiful OPEC comrades fought hard to bring them under our control, but due to having Allah on their side Al Hallaljam won and established their own hegemony. <br /><br />Asian Something Something fell when their leader in China was invaded and replaced. They didn't do anything interesting. The British commonwealth and Al Jam swallowed up most of their former countries in the aftermath. <br /><br />SSAC did nothing interesting and is still around, but is significantly weaker than before. They're decline was due to the rise of other regional alliances, and Al Jam and the Commonwealth entering Africa. Nobody really cares about them now, and you can basically forget about them. <br /><br /><br />After the fall of these alliances the Commonwealth and Al Jamamomed became the two dominant powers, alternating between being equal and al Jam having a pretty significant lead. When Europe was implemented brought in new irrelevant alliances, and a few new members for both powers. but mostly just clusterfuck. Evropa seemed to be rising there recently, but after a series of unfortunate events that I can not understand they fell from power a bit. They're basically just an extension of Al Jam anyway though.<br /><br />The Commonwealth was disintegrated from within, and though still around you can forget about them. Their members were mostly swallowed up by the WTO, Al Jamaryan, and a new Asian Union led by North Korea. I'd say Al Jam has a similar relation with the WTO right now that they had with the Commonwealth, and that's the current situation. Of course, the WTO isn't any real contest for the army of Allah.<br /><br /><br /><br />I think that's everything important, but somebody else can add on if I missed a big detail.<br /></div>

<div class="inner" id="msg_16155">Shufflez pretty much has it, but I'll add in some perspective on the S.E.A.T.O thing:<br /><br />In the beginning, China was rich. Like, McDuck levels of GDP, it was nonsense. China and India were SO far ahead that neither one could actually <em>attack</em> anybody. So Vader (India) and Kaleshnia (China) started literally buying members for their Asia alliance, the S.E.A.T.O. Basically, they'd offer to send a buttload of money at any Asia nation if that nation would go full communist and join S.E.A.T.O. Most took them up on the offer, but a few hardliners wanted to stay free (Japan, Nepal, Sri Lanka at least).<br /><br />Then, S.E.A.T.O decided to ally with OPEC to do a shady price-fixing deal on oil, basically keeping the price of oil super high and feeding most of it to China. This would have worked if OPEC hadn't attempted to conquer the whole Middle East in order to ensure a total monopoly on oil exports, militarily supported by China and India's ungodly piles of cash. (Seriously, they had almost 120,000 GDP between them)<br /><br />OPEC's aggression was a massive PR disaster, and Al-Jam got a huge pile of support. The new UN was decisive, as OPEC members were condemned en masse. Reputation damage plus troop reinforcements to Al-Jam from Latin America and Africa basically ensured OPEC's complete destruction, despite their universal 100/100 elite training and massive MG subsidies from S.E.A.T.O.<br /><br />Now, S.E.A.T.O themselves seemed invincible at first, especially when China repelled a Japanese attack with almost indecent ease. They had a hell of a lot of oil, factories, and technology... But this was still VERY early on, when nearly no-one had even 3 factories. I don't know why India decided to attack Nepal, but when I noticed, India was AoE. I asked India what was going on, but lacking an answer I decided #yolo. I'd been lucky as hell with the Junta events, and had a massive air advantage.<br /><br />Then <a href="http://blocgame.com/forums/index.php?topic=622.0" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">this</a> happens, to my (and honestly everyone's) surprise. Air superiority allowed my relatively small force to crash India with no survivors, and with Vader and Kale out of the picture, the foundations for OPEC/S.E.A.T.O domination were crushed beyond repair.<br /><br />Al-Jam promptly recruited the remaining OPEC leaders, and ended up with ME hegemony by default. Tensions proceeded to escalate, but it's pretty chill right now.</div>

Their members were mostly swallowed up by the WTO, Al Jamaryan, and a new Asian Union led by North Korea. I'd say Al Jam has a similar relation with the WTO right now that they had with the Commonwealth, and that's the current situation.
