It was intercepted by a spy!"<br /><br />So when a player who has a spy sends a comm, the spy owner's news feed could have a 75 percent chance of intercepting it and displaying a message like "X sent y the following comm:" And the spy would have a ten percent chance of being caught. (This is just an example so you get what I'm talking about)<br /><br />I think information warfare would add a great flavour to the game that a lot of players would enjoy by right now it only exists for the small small minority of players in the forums</div>

I would rather not intercept comms, just to ensure I wont get caught like this.<br /><br />And for the important messages I wont to send to people? They would look like this:<br /><br /><br /><br />comm 1: I would like to establish a secure line of chat with you, that can't be intercepted. It will be encrypted with "<a href="http://codebeautify.org/encrypt-decrypt" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">http://codebeautify.org/encrypt-decrypt</a>" and default settings. The key will be sent in 6 parts, join them together to be able to encode and decode messages.<br />comm 2: Part 1: 36432<br />comm 3: Part 2: 72564<br />comm 4: Part 3: 09123<br />comm 5: Part 4: 12380<br />comm 6: Part 5: 94710<br />comm 7: Part 6: 23974. concatenate those together to get the secret key, which we can use to send encrypted messages that interceptors can't understand.<br />comm 8: first encrypted message "1Wkc/RqRHAMQFAUHDQNjRSDgPHvanCO0bP62Tdw0b3KJsWkK1o5DHA2sOSUsw4SLcAmEdgMyySHLxeuCaXNct7G0/Bbj3LUZg5uSrKtFvk3g/GKFRirSqSM6wi/WCqGhiYmYSLA0gF8XrqABTwnKwc27XjANSdLxOikFoMI="<br /><br />Even if spies caught 75% of messages (and that is a lot), you only have a 16% chance of getting the whole key, less if I divide it more. You also need to get the first comm to understand it, and the actual message itself so you have something to decrypt. Basically, stealing information in transmission in the modern world is functionally impossible, don't even try.<br /></blockquote><div class="quotefooter"><div class="botslice_quote"></div></div><br />Right, I didn't really think through the specifics of it but there needs to be <em>some</em> kind of change to make spies more about gathering and intercepting information and less about fucking with people with spyfucks etc.<br /><br />In real life spies are not an offensive tool like they are on here, they're about gathering information.<br /></blockquote><div class="quotefooter"><div class="botslice_quote"></div></div><br />You're able to intercept in-game aid. 								<div class="inner" id="msg_6533">What about political edicts? Surely a spy would know if a government is, for example, pulling in guns from the soviets or manufacturing its own. This could also add more strategy and cannot be avoided by going outside the game like comms.<br /><br />If my spy spots that the enemy's consistently using their factories to produce weapons, I could bomb their factories for example.<br /><br />Anyway though, in general I'm just getting at spies needing to be more useful for information.</div>
