However it has the right to manage how many of it's shares it can sell. This also means that it would take 10 turns for a shareholder to get their money back from each share which would decrease the desire to constantly buy/sell on the fly.<br /><br />This reconstructs the formula to<br /><span style="color: yellow;" class="bbc_color">[Production Value] / 100 = 200k</span><br /><br />This also means that a restriction must be made. Remember that Available Shares are still corporate owned but are just for sale.<br /><br />However... Shareholder B buys 5% more...</span><br /><img src="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SPAQcEf8D49wbnw0SkNfAGG9VzbaTX5OuKmj9fK-uCo/pubchart?oid=1835057723&format=image" alt="" class="bbc_img" /><br /><br /><span style="color: white;" class="bbc_color">SHAREHOLDER B IS THE NEW CEO!!!!! Shareholder B stock now becomes corp only stock and available stock remains as available stock but now adds to Shareholder B's number instead. Previous CEO becomes a faction in a nation (next time user logs in he would choose a nation)</span><br /><img src="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SPAQcEf8D49wbnw0SkNfAGG9VzbaTX5OuKmj9fK-uCo/pubchart?oid=380598401&format=image" alt="" class="bbc_img" /><br /><br /><span style="color: white;" class="bbc_color">Now this could mean that a corp could literally give their company to someone or someone can take control of a corp by gaining power by simply owning the majority.<br /><br />This could be seen as a problem in light of the fact that a nation could also simultaneously control a corp UNLESS, there the code exempts nations and factions from taking over corps. In the which case it would be necessary to add "Shark" to the list of things someone can join as. Being that a shark can own a company or multiple companies or no companies but simply making money. This part could go on but it would be very interesting. But at the same token this section is optional to add.</span></div>

								<div class="inner" id="msg_38674">I came up with another idea for Stocks.<br /><br />There exists an actual stock market where corps can be publicly traded.  The stock market starts with xxx money.<br /><br />If you want to create stock you have to have a minimum of 1million production a turn. The maximum amount of your stocks that can exist in the world is half of your production per turn. The minimum of stocks you create is 100 stocks. The only way to get less than 100 stocks is to then destroy some of the stock yourself.<br /><br />Stocks have a minimum value of 2k and are rounded down in calculations so if the value of your stock is 2.90k it calculates it to 2k. The price of your stock is dependent on your production per turn and the amount of your stock that exists in the world. Once you create stock it you can choose to put it in the stock market or trade it with others.<br /><br />The stock market lists all the stocks that are being sold on it and also telling you how many of that stock exists and how many are for sale along with the value and the price to buy the stock including who is selling that specific stock.  The price of the stock is 10 times its actual value.  When you first put your stock on the market the market buys it so you get 75% of its selling price.  Then when someone buys it they would have to pay 10 times its actual value.<br /><br />The dividends that are are payed to stockholders is the stock value multiplied by how many of that stock he owns. However dividends don't get payed out if the stock market hasn't grown since the last turn. The cash that dividends pay out is cash generated from the value of the stock it is not deducted from anywhere.<br /><br />Corporations can destroy their own stock if someone other than the market owns it at any time however they will destroy ALL of their stocks that specific corp or nation or faction own. If corps are known for doing this then people will likely stay away from their stocks or possibly destroy stocks back or nationalize their assets.<br /><br />If a corporation lists a stock on the stock market and it doesn't get bought after 3 turns the market auto sells the stock back at its current price*10 so the corporation acquires debt and loses money. Or after 3 turns the stock is auto sold back to the corp whose stock it is and they acquire the debts and lose money on it.<br /><br />People can trade their stocks outside the market but then the market doesn't get a share of cash and it might not get enough growth to pay dividends.<br /><br />A corporation can decide to keep its own stock and make money on the dividends if the stock market is consistently growing still but, it is more beneficial for them to sell their stock to others to make upfront money and to help secure their assets from nationalization or to make sure the stock of another corp that they own doesn't get destroy by that corp.<br /><br />If you have any suggestions or want to point out flaws list them.</div>

								<div class="inner" id="msg_38689">Idea:<br /><br />1. Reuse the list of factions and the faction pages. A central stock market should be a ticker line/news list, not an actual trading market. If you do want a central stock market page, make it so you can buy index funds (gains/losses based on the market's performance at the end of each turn).<br /><br />2. 1,000 or so shares of stock per corporation. A corporation selling stock gets that money upfront in cash. The IPO is based on the market value of resources--so the costs to buy 1 RM, 1 Oil, & 1 MG. Only nations can buy shares (to prevent ponzi schemes). Maybe make the corporation type count for something--so an oil co's IPO is 1 RM, 2 Oil, & 1 MG. Or a mining co is 2 RM, 1 Oil, & 1 MG. An industrial co's is 1 RM, 1 oil, & 2 MG.<br /><br />3. Stocks pay dividends--drawn from their treasuries just after the turn change. Corporations can set rates from 0% to 5%. Bankrupt corporations pay a dividend only while their production could, theoretically, cover their tax & dividend loss. This stops dividends from being farmed.<br /><br />4. Large shareholders (>100 stocks) receive a share of the resources produced within their own country. So if Cuba owns 100 shares of Enron (5% dividend) & Enron has 100 mines in Brazil, then Cuba gets no additional resources. If Enron has 100 mines in Cuba, then Enron gives 5 RM to Cuba every turn. However, command economies have their shares invalidated (they own them but gain nothing from them), mixed market economies lost 50% of the gains into the void, & free market economies give up their ability to tax the corporation's assets.<br /><br />5. For dividends, say Enron has $1,000k cash after the turn change. If their dividend rate is 5% (the max), then they'll lose $50k of their cash. Cuba, owning 100 shares, would get $5k (at this rate, shareholders over 20 shares get $1k per 20 shares). Rounding down results in the proceeds being deleted. <br /><br />6. On building production buildings: make a new reputation bar for corporations that acts like Manpower. That corporation can build 2 new production buildings per turn. Building more starts cutting into their reputation. A red reputation means that their assets can be nationalized for 1% stability per asset. A white reputation means the nation will lose reputation (1 point) & stability (3% per asset). A green reputation means that the nation will lose reputation (3 points), growth (equal to the base building, so $1M to $10M), & stability (5% per asset).<br /><br />7. As a further idea, make it so that red reputation corporations cannot receive privatized assets and will lose 10% of cash or $10k/resource when aided/sent away (like trading between nations of opposite economic systems). Also, make it so that new stocks can be created but cost reputation to create.</div>

It keeps rising and the rm/oil in circulation rises too. <br /><br />For optional one, so rumsod has to add another role besides nation, faction, and corporation, or "shark" as you said. This is good idea, and a very interesting one. However rumsod has to somehow manage to make connection between faction and corp, not to mention the "shark" also. So let's just say I am X corp, and I have different corps' shares. I chose to sell most of my share to A nation. I still produce money and can stockpile every resources there is, but can't do anything such as building well/mines. However that is the fun part, because at that point as the X corp, I would be rich enough to trade my resources for more resources and controlling everything from the backstage. <br /><br />Regardless, GJ linksith</div>

Corporations create stock for 50% of their corporation, and just like how nations have an input box for their taxes, corporations can put in what percentage of that 50% 1 stock is. Ex, 1 is 1/50, .1 is 1/500, .01 is 1/5000, etc. <br /><br />2. Corporate stock value will be determined by the total value of the corporations physical assets. (Which is partly how corporation value is currently determined.) If I have a corporation who's assets are worth 10,000k and I have 100 stocks, each stock is worth 100k. <br /><br />3. Nations or other corporations can buy corporate stocks. When this happens, the corporation receives liquid money. <br /><br />4. When the corporation grows in physical assets, the stock value grows. Let's assume the corporation laid down a few factories, or let's assume that the market values for products rose significantly. The corporation's total asset value is now at 15,000k. Respectively, each of those 100 stocks is now worth 150k--a 50% rise.<br /><br />5. The nation who bought that stock decides it's time to sell. They sell their stock they originally bought for 100k and they make a 50k profit. Meanwhile, the corporation loses 150k since that stock was sold.<br /><br />This is beneficial for both shareholders and corporations. It gives shareholders a neat way to make money, and it provides corpovations with a good way to generate funds for expansion.</div>

The stock market could buy stocks from players for 7.5x the Stock value. Since the stock value of a stock is worth 100k the market would buy each stock for 750k and theres 50 stocks so Corp Big Guy would gain 37.5 million in liquid capital that was deducted from the Stock Market's Cash.<br /><br />The stock market now has less cash than it did before but now owns 50 out of 100 shares of Corp Big Guy. Any Nation, Corp or Faction can now purchase the 50 shares that are in the stock market. Now its still the same turn and Nation B decides it wants to buy 30 shares of Corp Big Guy. The stock market sells the shares for 10x their value so 30 shares cost a total of 30 million. Then Corp C buys 10 shares for 10 million  and Faction L buys the remaining 10 shares for 10 million. <br /><br />The stock market has now profited and made 25% increase in value. So since the stock market has grown, the game generates money out of nowhere(or it can be taken out of the stock market but it will have to be tweaked for that to work) to pay for the dividends, for a total of 10million(since this is Corp Big Guy's current production and the value of all Corp Big Guy Stock) the stock's value of 100k per stock and it gets divided to everyone that owns a share that includes Nation A and Corp Big guys 50 share total even if they didn't get their stocks from the Stock Market. <br /><br />So Corp Big guy gets 3million cash, Nation A gets 2million, Nation B gets 3million, Corp C gets 1million, and Faction L gets 1million. Everyone who purchased shares from the market would have to hold on to their shares for a few turns to make the money back.<br /><hr />Hopefully its doesn't sound too convoluted. If any other part from the original post doesn't make too much sense point it out and I can try to explain it.<br /></div>

Buying back your own stock is a common tactic to inflate stock price.</div>

Anyone who tried to buy/sell daily would lose or, at best, break even. <br />2. Introduce a new reputation bar. Good citizens who don't mega-grow are better regarded and have privileges. Overexpansion makes most investors weary. Nations that do super-grow can be punished. The effects of stock may be too complex but the basics are reasonable IMO.<br />3.
